Wheat Prices Collapse Amid Surge in Global Supply
Global wheat prices are tumbling as projections indicate a bumper crop for the 2025-26 season. Preliminary estimates suggest stockpiles will reach 271 million tonnes, a 3% increase from the previous year. Russia's output is expected to surge to 83-85 million tonnes, while EU production could exceed 138 million tonnes—6% above the five-year average.
Canadian spring wheat yields are also rebounding after favorable rainfall in the Prairie region. Despite robust demand for high-protein varieties, the oversupply is pressuring agricultural equities. Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM), Nutrien (NTR), and Deere & Co. (DE) are among the stocks feeling the downdraft.
